Our first stop after leaving our house in Charmouth was a farm 25 minutes walk from the village. We had some stuff to do locally and the west Dorset countryside is as good as anything we have see. Lovely little farm site with showers, in the Pig Pen, toilets, what more does one need.
We walked across the fields to the village a few times to see people or use the library and I played a couple of afternoons at the tennis club that I will join on our return.
On a couple of these walks we saw a mother buzzard teaching her fledgling to fly from tree to tree, then how to swoop and avoid other birds. She punctuated he lessons with high pitched squeaks, lovely to watch.
Lots of our new friends said they would miss us and we had a really good last evening and gorgeous meal at our local pub the Royal Oak.
Off to Lee's delayed 40th birthday party in Crowthorne and a chance to catch up with Nicola and the very cute William. The party was held in a quirky cafe bar near his house and involved karaoke, with Lee and a mate of his singing 500 miles with Scottish accents, he always makes everyone smile.
Lee had asked the manager if we could park the van in the car park over night so Jacqui, Helen and I got into bed without travelling too far.
00:30 came a banging on our door by the car park security ghurka and we got thrown out! Good job Lee's house was close by because we parked on the road outside and slept there.
Bit more seeing family and friends then it's off to the ferry!
